Sometimes Epson printer will not erase previous error code. When it has a depleted OEM cartridge error, and a non-OEM cartridge warning come together, it causes the printer to display "cartridge not recognized". If you installed cartridge with power off, then printer won't know you changed the cartridge. It will confuse the printer and thus cause cartridge error.
Things to try:
1. REMOVE ALL cartridges from the printer.
2. Turn the printer OFF at the wall, leave off for at least 30 mins.
3. Turn the power back ON.
4. Turn the Printer ON and after that firmly reinstall all inks.
Low Ink HP:
These are remanufactured inkjet cartridges and it is normal to receive false ink readings. Rest assure know that our cartridges are refilled to 100% maximum capacity with ink. They are never sent low or empty! Inaccurate ink levels are due to the ink level chip that we are unable to reset.
If you are able to print clearly with the low ink error message present, then that means that the cartridge is working.
If you are unable to print with the error message, Please follow the override solutions below to ignore the errors and print: .
If necessary, ignore the "Low Ink"/"Empty Cartridge" error message by selecting “Dismiss,” “Ok,” or “Continue” and your printer will start to print.
Low Ink Canon:
Please know that our cartridges are refilled to 100% maximum capacity with ink. They are never sent empty or low! =) These are remanufactured inkjet cartridges and it is normal to receive inaccurate ink level readings. This is due to an Ink Level Chip that we cannot reset.
If you are able to print with the low ink indication present, then that means that the cartridges are actually working. If you are unable to, please follow the steps below to bypass the low ink error message and print:
1.) Once the cartridge is installed, start print. You may receive an error message that says, “Ink is running low. View the ink details.” This message can be ignored or closed. No action is necessary to continue printing normally.

Low ink Tank Cartridges:
These are remanufactured inkjet cartridges and it is normal to receive inaccurate ink level readings. Unfortunately, the only way to know when the cartridges are running out of ink is when the printing quality starts to deplete. This is due to an Ink Level Chip that we cannot reset.
If you are able to print with the low ink error message present then that means that the cartridges are actually working.
If you are unable to with the low ink error message present, you may try this troubleshooting:
1.) Once the cartridge is installed, start print. If you receive a “low ink” or “empty” error, click “OK” to ignore the error and continue to print.
2.) If a second message appears click “OK” or “Continue.” If your printer has an LCD screen, press the OK button on your printer or the [Right Arrow] button and then the OK button to ignore any errors and print.
If you are still unable to print, it could mean that your printer will accept refurbished cartridges however, they would need some ink level indication
in order for your printer to function.
Print Quality Print Head Cartridges:
If any streaks or missing colors appear on prints, thoroughly clean the cartridge’s electrical contacts and printer’s flex driver cable surface. If the cartridge is clogged then a warm water flush may be necessary to recover all colors.
Please follow our solutions below to improve quality of ink flow from the cartridge: 1.) You will want to use a lint free towel or a coffee filter.
2.) Remove the cartridge(s) from the printer and place the print head (bottom of cartridge) downward on a damp (alcohol works best) towel or filter for 3-5 seconds. Upon lifting the cartridge back up, you should see a black mark/(3) colors on the towel or filter.
3) Install cartridge back in and continue to print.
4) If your printer has a print head cleaning option, please run a few cleaning cycles to help with the ink flow. You might be able to find this option under your printer properties.

Print Quality Tank Cartridges:
Please follow our solutions below to help fix quality of the print:
1.) Please run 2-3 cleaning cycles. Please note that each cleaning cycle will use some of the ink in each cartridge.
If your printer has an LCD screen, you can follow the instructions to begin cleaning cycle. If your printer does not have an LCD screen, the instructions to run a cleaning cycle can be found in the “Printer Preferences/Properties” section under “Printers and Faxes” on your computer.
2.) Once you have cleaned it, please try our product again.
DO NOT FIT
Please check if you have the right cartridges, If the cartridge is “too big” please make sure you have removed the protective clip on the top part of the cartridge. It covers the print head/electrical contacts that communicate with your printer (the electrical contacts must be visible before installing in your printer).
Please also remember to remove the clear tape that covers the contact/chip of the cartridge.
LINES OR SMUDGES:
Smudges on printed output can be due to dirty printers. The accumulation of dirt, dust, or toner on a printer's rollers or transfer belt can leave tracks on the page when the paper moves through the printer. We recommend you to clean your printer and run cleaning test. If your printouts still have lines, try cleaning your print heads manually using distilled water, rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs to gently wipe away any dried ink that may have remained behind.
Also modify your printer settings to print "good" instead of "best". Doing this will tell the printer to use less ink. Check your printer settings to make sure you are matching the appropriate paper type with what the toner is printing out.
Please try these methods and let us know if it helped or not.
